Cyber Extortion and Ransomware
This session will present cases of cyber extortion and ransomware on corporate and high net worth individuals, including hacking techniques for full network compromise and deployment of ransomware kits. Many of the cases discussed are currently under investigation by the FBI and Secret Service. Even there has been a number of cases, many professionals in cybersecurity industry are still not fully aware of what is happening on dark web market and how to react to cyber extortion cases. This session will help the attendees to gain knowledge of the tools and techniques that are needed to deal with real extortion cases. Also, it will cover how expert team confronts real cases, how they deal with payments, and how re-testing and penetration test environment looks like. Attendees will have a better understanding in current ransomware landscape, attackers’ initial vectors of compromises, and indicators of compromises.
