73% of Employees Have No Cybersecurity Awareness

Liberty – a LIFARS Personalized Managed Incident Response Solution

According to a joint study conducted by Kaspersky Lab and B2B International, 73% of companies have experienced internal information security incidents, and the main reason for the loss of confidential data is the employees (42%). The average loss caused by a data breach incident for SMEs is about $80,000. With the expansion of enterprise IT infrastructure, the threat environment facing enterprises is also more complex. New components will bring new security vulnerabilities. What’s worse, not all enterprise employees are proficient in IT security knowledge, especially those who do not have professional IT knowledge cannot keep up with the rapid development and evolution of the IT environment. This results in companies not only facing external threats, but also responding to internal threats from corporate employees.

LIFARS experts identify and interview essential personnel to understand your company’s distinct capabilities and existing contingency plans, then use this information to formulate a custom data-breach scenario based on our real-world experience.

The survey also found that 21% of the companies that encountered internal threats lost important corporate data, which ultimately affected their business. It is worth mentioning that the survey found that data leakage caused by accidents by employees accounted for 28%, and intentionally caused important data leakage by companies accounted for 14%. After SMEs suffered data breaches, the average loss was $80,000, including $33,000 in accidental data breach losses and $47,000 in intentional data breach losses. For large enterprises, this loss was as high as $1.29 million, and accidental data breach losses and intentional data breach losses were $544,000 and $748,000.
