As The New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC) recently unveiled a series of plans to make the city the global hub for cyber security. These series of programs and investments, called Cyber NYC, are aimed to grow the cyber security workforce in the city. Cyber NYC is a $100 million investment by both private and public partner 70 million from private investments. This could create up to 10,000 new jobs in the city as the city plans to become the cyber workforce of the future, creating space for the next billion dollar company.

Manhattan Borough President Gale A. Brewer stated:

Cyber security has never been more important to the pillars of New York’s economy — sectors like finance, healthcare, media, and technology — and it will only grow more crucial

The plans include opening a 15,000 square foot NYC Global Cyber Center in Chelsea with the organization, Sosa.
