Technology giant Microsoft is pressing ahead with its efforts to usher in a ‘password-less’ future.

“No company lets enterprises eliminate more passwords than Microsoft,” the Redmond-based software giant announced proudly at its enterprise technology conference Ignite in Orlando, Florida.

In staking that claim, the company unveiled new support for password-less logins through a number of ways including its Microsoft Authenticator app, an updated Microsoft Secure Score and a newly-announced Microsoft Threat Protection.

For retail users, the company is already offering a version of Windows Hello for Windows 10 users. For institutional clients using the Azure Active Directory, the authenticator app replicates Windows Hello by enabling users to access their enterprise applications via a face, fingerprint or PIN.

For personal accounts, Microsoft revealed the following video for password-free logins:

Rob Lefferts, Microsoft’s corporate vice president at Security, added:

Cybersecurity is the central challenge of our digital age. Without it, everything from our personal email accounts and privacy to the way we do business, and all types of critical infrastructure are under threat. As attackers evolve, staying ahead of these threats is getting harder.

The company’s Secure Store service provides corporates with an assessment report card of their security posture, including a spotlight on relevant details like multi-factor authentication or email forwarding.

For Microsoft 365 subscribers, the new Microsoft Threat Protection service includes both online and offline services with threat protections keeping an eye on email accounts, documents, PCs and more.
