Cyber extortion is growing rapidly.  LIFARS has proprietary Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures to combat cyber threats.  If you have been victimized, contact LIFARS immediately for help.

At LIFARS we frequently get calls regarding cyber extortion.  Lately there has been an increase in attacks centered around causing irreparable damage to one’s image, reputation, and integrity.  Here is an example where a prominent CEO was contacted.

Hey <TARGETED VICTIM’S NAME>,

YOUR FAMILY … will soon see the profile,

As 0.51 bitcoin has not been sent, we are getting ready gathering contact information of everyone close to you, so you can see how serious we are about destroying you. Are you getting ready? Not just the <FAMILY NAME>, but everyone at <COMPANY> will learn about your activities on the side.

Send the 0.51 fast to this address 18j4H6BhbV8WU6ossjHo5TirPt87KdEXXX because soon we will make an example of you for other people to see. You have until the end of the month. If we see 25% of it there by then, we will give you two more weeks to send the balance. If not… September 1st is going to be very revealing for your FAMILY. We will destroy your life.

Here is another example of a cyber extortion email a recent LIFARS client received:

I will directly come to the point. I know ILOVEPORN is your password. Most importantly, I know your secret and I’ve proof of your secret. You do not know me, and no one paid me to investigate you.

It’s just your bad luck that I discovered your bad deeds. Actually, I setup a malware on the adult vids (porn) and you visited this web site to experience fun (you know what I mean). When you were watching video clips, your internet browser began operating as a RDP (Remote control desktop) with a key logger which provided me with accessibility to your display and web cam. Right after that, my software gathered every one of your contacts from messenger, social networks, and e-mail.

I then gave in much more hours than I should have investigating into your life and created a double screen video. 1st part shows the video you had been watching and next part shows the capture of your web cam (its you doing inappropriate things).

Honestly, I’m ready to forget about you and let you move on with your regular life. And I am going to provide you 2 options that may make it happen. These two options are to either ignore this letter, or simply just pay me $ 2950. Let us understand above two options in more detail.

Option One is to ignore this email. Let us see what is going to happen if you opt this option. I will, no doubt send out your video recording to your contacts including relatives, coworkers, and so on. It won’t save you from the humiliation yourself will have to face when friends and family learn your sordid videos from me.

Option 2 is to make the payment of $ 2950. We will name this my “confidentiality charges.” Now let me tell you what happens if you choose this path. Your secret remains your secret. I will destroy the recording immediately. You move on with your life like nothing like this ever occurred.

Now you may be thinking, “I should go to the cops.” Let me tell you, I have covered my steps in order that this message cannot be linked to me, and it won’t steer clear of the evidence from destroying your life. I am not looking to steal all your savings. I am just looking to get paid for the time I put into investigating you. Let’s assume you have decided to make all of this disappear and pay me my confidentiality fee. You will make the payment through Bitcoins (if you don’t know how, search “how to buy bitcoins” on google.)

Transfer Amount: $ 2950
Receiving Bitcoin Address: 1DXu*y4P9fhKuznqWdanZ2WnyqSSu3JQXXX (Edit * from this string and note it)

Explain nobody what you will be utilizing the Bitcoins for or they may not give it to you. The process to get bitcoins may take a couple of days so do not delay. Cyber extortion has it’s own payment terms.

I have a specific pixel in this mail, and right now I know that you’ve read this email. You have 48 hours in order to make the payment. If I don’t get the Bitcoins, I will certainly send out your video recording to all your contacts including family members, coworkers, and so on.

These emails are real examples of a cyber extortion scams, where LIFARS was called to respond.  LIFARS used military ambush techniques to annihilate the threat.  Given LIFARS’ personal connections with international law enforcement, within 8 hours, most of the fraudulent infrastructure was destroyed, shutting down the attack.  Don’t be a victim.  Call LIFARS today to have a conversation on how to proactively protect yourself, or on how to respond should you become a target.
