Facebook has revealed a new security tool, aptly named – Security Checkup, that will help keep Facebook users with their accounts security.
Facebook is introducing a new app called Security Checkup that will do a few things to help ramp up your Facebook account’s security. Among other things, it examines your password to determine how strong your password is. If it isn’t quite strong enough, the application suggests changing your password. Additionally, the application also sends you a quick alert whenever someone tries to log in to your Facebook account from an unfamiliar device or location.

You can use the Security Checkup tool on your Android device to review and add more security to your account. Providing easy access to security controls on Android is important to us since most people use connecting to Facebook on a mobile device are using Android.
The application will also help users log out of Facebook from browsers and additional devices that haven’t been used in a while, to add to one’s account security. The feature was primarily tested on Facebook’s desktop platform earlier this summer, an idea that was later implemented to mobile users following the success of the desktop variant.
The remote logout feature from other locations or devices could come in handy, particularly when you’re using Facebook at a library or at any public kiosk.

Facebook’s Product Manager Melissa Luu-Van added:
In only a few minutes, Security Checkup helps you log out of Facebook from browsers and devices where you haven’t used Facebook in a while, turn on Login Alerts in case someone else tries to log into your account from a new computer or phone, and protect your password.
As things stand, Facebook has only released an Android version of the application. The social network adds that an iOS version is already in the works and will come out soon. For now, the Security Checkup feature can be accessed from the Facebook app’s Help Center, where you will be able to use the app’s enhanced security features.
