Anonymous Targets Donald Trump’s Trump Tower Website

Soon after Donald Trump’s proposal of banning Muslims from entering the country, online hacktivist collective Anonymous has released a video stating that it is warning the presidential candidate about future comments and that it is targeting Donald Trump’s Trump Tower website.

With a YouTube video of an anonymous person wearing the signature Guy Fawkes mask, Anonymous has announced that it is paying close attention to Republican presidential runner Donald Trump.

The hacker group also claimed responsibility for shutting down Donald Trump’s Trump Tower website on Friday. The website was replaced with a temporary offline backup throughout the day.

The video message read:

Donald Trump, it has come to our attention that you want to ban all Muslims [from entering] the United States. This policy is going to have a huge impact.

The more the United States appears to be targeting Muslims, not just radical Muslims, you can be sure that ISIS will be putting that on their social media campaign … Donald Trump, think twice before you speak anything. You have been warned.

In a series of tweets, prominent Anonymous accounts also continued to take aim at Donald Trump on Twitter.

The group noted that the Trump Towers NY site was taken down “as a statement against racism and hatred.”

The entire campaign is a part of Anonymous’ #OpTrump endeavor and isn’t likely to subside anytime soon.

Meanwhile, 25 percent of Americans approve of Trump’s idea, according to a study by NBC – Wall Street Journal. While 42 percent of Republicans expressed their support, another 22 percent claimed they weren’t sure how they felt. The remaining 36 percent were firmly against Trump’s idea.
